Once A Castle

 

A memory cut from unreal cloth
capture's my minds eye.
Opening the window to memories
kept buried deep inside.

 

I see dappled curtains slowly parted
by fingers sensed; and yet unseen.
As  soft voices whisper ~"Remember,"
and passion stirs at the heart of me.

 

Visions of the past surround me
unobscured by the mists of time.
Soft watercolor images, like ghosts
dance through the portals of my mind.

 

I recognize and seek to capture
each impression drawn from memory.
Embracing the emotion
it ignites inside of me.

 

Once a castle..
stood in relief high atop the hill.
It rang with love and laughter
and with dreams it's walls were filled. 

 

I re-visit the foundations laid
with tender, loving care.
And realize the castle keep
remains a fortress there.

 

For a moment I've immersed myself
in the essence of ago old dreams.
Opening the windows wide
to set the memories free.
